Did you know Denny’s will give you a free Grand Slam breakfast on your birthday?!
I remember reading that Denny’s give you a free breakfast if it is your birthday. I thought there had to be some sort of trick or fine-print.
Well since it was my birthday last week, so I went to check it out. I also did’t know if I needed my license and at what point did I need to tell them I was there for my free breakfast…?!
Let me just tell you now, it’s easy and it’s legit.
First of course I went in and got sat. My waitress got me going with a drink and I took at look at the menu. On the menu, is a classic grand slam and also a build-your-own. Because I wasn’t sure if there were restrictions to building my own, I waited for the waitress to come back.
*just as a side note Denny’s has revamped their menu, noting if an item is gluten-free, the amount of calories in each item and offering whole wheat, sugar-free and gluten free menu options.
When the waitress came to get my order, I mentioned it was my birthday and she really took it from there. She said they offered a free grand slam which includes: Pancakes, eggs, sausage and bacon. I eat gluten free and asked if I could make a substitution and I was allowed to switch the pancakes for a gluten-free english muffin for free. I was happy to know you could tweak the options and it still counts! I decided to add hash-browns and orange juice for a small cost.
Before my food arrived the waitress came over with the bill/receipt and they asked for me to write my Drivers License Number and my signature on it (the manager signed off on it as well); this way there is no confusion when you are ready to pay for your meal. A few minutes later they brought out my food.
I enjoyed my meal and went to go pay at the register. I was told I would need to show my license when I went to pay. The manager rung me up and didn’t ask to see it. I paid for the side of hash-browns and orange juice plus tip. That was it!
All you have to do is walk in on your birthday and get your free breakfast!! Just make sure to have your license handy and enjoy!
